Intelligent Predators

Technical Notes and SGI Versions

Japanese here

Technical Explanations:

The Predators' movements are defined as follows:
(1) Avert collisions with obstacles and the six walls located at the top, bottom, right, left, front, and back of the screen.
(2) Recognize other Predators as obstacles and avert them.
(3) Recognize Food and/or Escapers and move toward them.

The Escapers' movements are defined as follows:
(1) Avert collisions with obstacles and walls of the screen.
(2) Recognize Predators in their territory and escape from them.

Note that the game characters' movements are defined by a different set of rules than those used in "Boids" by Craig Raynolds.
